The darkness and the light
brood over the shadow
waters still and deep, and
the bloody full moon brings
an imitation of day without
a cloud to block its way,
in this time of intimate
stillness before the palate
of colour hits the horizon
with a liberal brush and all
the mystery of night is lost
in the forensic light of day.
