What an laughable irony it is
that as we age our bodies take
us captive, even if our minds are
free, full and unfettered by
the sinews of our mortal being.

But I say, as a fellow captive,
that I will never give in to the
body as my overlord, and I will
push against this close tyranny
the best I can, so I can still be a
creative soul filled with desire.
