I am a dreamer and
I wish my dream be true:
I dream a society that makes
decisions based on evidence,
embracing science and research,
not afraid of debate and reason,
and seeking truth with foundations.

But in my dreaming I also taste
the force of terror, for I have a
dreaded nightmare about a society
of fear, one based unhealthily on
unreasoned opinion and the force
of language to make the ridiculous
seem as if it is true and plausible.

There is my beautiful dream
and my nightmare and to what
will I wake up to in this future unclear.
