As I get older and older
I am more content with
my own company, as I am
wholly present with myself.

Don’t get me wrong: I have
intimate others with whom
I make a life and share the
travails and joys of living.

Unlike when I young and not
yet fitted fully in my skin,
my stretched and wrinkled
self has plenty of room within.

And it is within that I find
the home that I have always
sought: this place of thought
and imagination just for myself.
