aliens,
conspiracies,
horoscopes,
myths,
legends,
creation stories,
visions,
dreams,
sacred texts:
all about this age-old
search for significance
and our place
on this rock thrown around
and around the universe
to which we are tethered,
and which we call home.

For we must account for why
we are here,
in our restless yearning,
as creatures among creatures,
special but perhaps
not so special at all.

We must look for some beyond
in the face of being here
fully alone,
journeying through the
universe and wanting
to fill the void.
