Don’t believe in the poison
chalice that you are being
sold in the name of equality,
of inclusion and all the other
language that slips around
so easily from left to right.

None of this will bring you
happiness, and the myth
you have been told over
and over is a lie, a middle
class lie, a western lie,
a lie all in the name of
progress, and the fervour
will sweep you away,
and take with it the truth.

Don’t buy the poison chalice,
that seems golden and clean,
and be someone else’s slave,
for the truth of happiness lies
not in this corporate vessel and
on this wheel that goes round and
round, but in something intangible,
unseen but felt, and it waits for
your return to what’s always been.
