The sun gives way to the moon
and the moon to the garish sun
in this endless cycle to which
we are relentlessly bound just like
the birds that twitter in the garden
and the creatures that roam the
forest and the plains by dark night
and by the guiding light of the sun.

The cycle has formed us whole and
shaped our parts and we are reliant,
just like all creatures who are embedded
in this planet we call our fragile home.

The moon holds its steady place in the
everlasting. sky and shines the light
of the sun on everything and all beneath
its gaze, and the sun brings its warmth
and its life, as the wheel turns in spirals
and all creatures under the sun and moon
find their natural place, moving ever
forward in this long evolutionary chase.
