Our delicate future with
shifting machines,
intelligent, capable,
independent and creative,
is here now and coming,
changing the way we think about
our world, about who we are and
about what we might become,
as technology takes its place beside us
and in us and beyond us.

Changing how we do
what we have always done,
and taking us to thought
places that we never
believed we would go,
in this revolution that
has come so quickly
in the history of our
dominant kind.

The new ways of working,
of being creative,
and the acceleration that
forces us back in our seats
in order to go forward
to these new possibilities
down the winding yellow
road of change that offers
no clear vision ahead.

A new era is spruiked,
perhaps attended by fear
or apprehension,
and wondering
what we as humans
might be as the apps and bots
and machines surround us
and cause us creatures to
retreat or embrace the splendid
uncertainty that all this
technology inspires
and generates.
