If you are waiting and on standby
for justice to come to you and
for those whose dispense justice
to see you in the wings and invite
you on their stage, perhaps it is
the case that you will wait there
on the margins, at the border,
in the liminal space, a very long time,
maybe your lifetime and beyond.

Instead let you come to justice
and seek it out–cry it out!

Push forward all you who lie
beneath the weight of the scales
that have never swung your way.

Do not relent and be told that this
does not matter or that there are
better ways, for the ‘better ways’
sit in the managed wings,
at the margins,
at the border,
in that deadly liminal space
to which you are condemned.
