They are as soft
and flowing as
feathers on a
bird in flight.

They penetrate
like bullets aimed
from a loud gun in
the heat of battle.

They bring the
outside in and
the inside out in
igniting exploration.

They shoot to the
sky in vivid imagination
that takes the mind
to colourful places.

They become the
brush that paints
a wondrous scene
to be relived.

They are all these
things and more
as a thread that sews
together centuries.
